CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol)

CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol)

InterDigital has developed an implementation of the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) standard defined by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). It is compliant with RFC7252 (June 2014) and supports the block wise transfer feature. It has been successfully tested for interoperability at a number of IETF CoAP Plugtest events.

The CoAP implementation has been integrated with our oneMPOWER platform, a oneM2M Release 1 compliant Service Delivery Platform (SDP) supporting a wide range of M2M/IoT applications. It provides features including Device Management (using OMA LWM2M), Data Management, Service Discovery, etc. It has also been integrated with our ETSI TC M2M R1 & R2 compliant Service Delivery Platform (SDP).

The figure represents one possible deployment of the CoAP implementation being used on the constrained device and its gateway. Many other configurations are supported for all nodes within the oneM2M architecture.
