After a great two first days, we are onto Day 3 of MWC, and we’re keeping the energy up here at 7C61!  Today we are excited to host three panels right in our on-site studio.  In the morning, our Wireless team is hosting two panels surrounding 5G testbeds and Mobile Edge Computing, then in the afternoon, our IoT team takes over to conduct a Smart Cities-based conversation.  See below for more details.

  • 10:00 AM CET - "5G Testbeds - Research Directions for 5G and Beyond"
  • 11:00 AM CET - "Delivering the 5G Experience with Mobile Edge Services"
  • 15:00 PM CET - "IoT & Cities: Bridging a Smarter Future"

In addition to these panels, our demo teams are continuing to share our technology with visitors and engage in topical conversations revolving around the future of 5G, Smart Cities, and sensors.  Check out some of the photos from the demos here.

Our Port Vell event last night unfortunately had to be called off due to unconventional snow and freezing temperatures in the Barceloneta area, but those who stayed at the booth for The Mañaners' second performance had a great time!

The Mañaners will return for a final performance tonight at 17:30 PM CET – be sure to hang out for some tunes and drinks!

Our second day at Mobile World Congress 2018 is off to a great start.

Today we are collaborating with The Mobile Network and Light Reading to conduct a series of interviews and panels in our in-house studio on site.

We had a busy first day here - here are some of the photos of the action.

This year, InterDigital, 4iP Council, and Avanci are hosting an event aboard the luxury 100-foot yacht Semaya in Port Vell, a short cab ride from Fira Barcelona, at 18:00 PM CET for a discussion on IP issues and their role in driving innovation, with a particular focus on SMEs, startups, universities, and other key players. Shortly after at 19:00 PM CET, our R&D team will host a discussion on future wireless innovation and the role of smart cities in shaping our lives, which will give guests the opportunity meet with senior research figures from around the world.

Back at the booth, The Mañaners will end day 2 of MWC by playing their second set of the event at 7C61 at 17:30PM CET. Stop by on your way out to check them out!

Mobile World Congress 2018 is officially under way, and InterDigital has pulled out all the stops for our booth at 7C61.  We have ten all new demos to showcase during the week, split between InterDigital’s wireless team, ChordantTM, an InterDigital Smart Cities-focused business, and Hillcrest Labs, an InterDigital subsidiary specializing in sensor technology.

This year, we are fully utilizing our studio space and are partnering with media outlets such as The Mobile Network, Light Reading, and TelecomTV to conduct some interviews and panels (which will be available for download/viewing after the event).  Monday kicks off with content from TelecomTV in the morning, followed by Light Reading filming in the afternoon.

This week, representatives from InterDigital are also joining in the GSMA’s Ministerial Programme, in which participants will explore how mobile connectivity is driving innovation and growth across multiple sectors, and exchange ideas on the policies needed to create a better future.  For more information, click here.
