Recognizing International Women’s Day with InterDigital’s Inaugural Women’s Network

March 7, 2024 / Posted By: InterDigital Comms

Celebrated around the globe on March 8th, International Women’s Day (IWD) is a time to recognize and celebrate the achievement of women in all stages of their lives. This year, we are proud to commemorate IWD with the launch of InterDigital’s very first Women’s Network, an employee resource group dedicated to helping “elevate the women of InterDigital by creating strategies that address the potential barriers women face to do their greatest work and be the greatest version of themselves.”

Though officially recognized by the United Nations in 1977, IWD has been celebrated for more than a century and supported causes and important global actions to create an inclusive and equitable community for women and allies.

We are proud to build upon the intent of this important day by introducing the purpose and first leadership committee of InterDigital’s Women’s Network. The Women’s Network will be led entirely by InterDigital employees with the goal of providing education, fostering community, sponsoring development, and strengthening the representation of women engineers and leaders within our company and our industry.

Introducing InterDigital’s Women’s Network Committee

The purpose of the Women’s Network is to attract talented women into our industry and inspire the next generation of women engineers, inventors, and patent leaders. At InterDigital, we are fortunate to champion this effort in partnership with a strong community of allies that support our goals. The Women’s Network will leverage its influence to foster an inclusive culture while exploring avenues to attract, develop, and support women in our workforce and industry at large.

InterDigital’s inaugural Women’s Network committee is comprised of a diverse group of female leaders and allies from across the company. Alongside executive sponsors, including Chief Licensing Officer Eeva Hakoranta, Chief People Officer Skip Maloney, and Chief Technology Officer Rajesh Pankaj, the nine-person Women’s Network committee hails from five unique departments and six different office locations.

This IWD, please join us in welcoming this incredible committee of leaders and stay tuned as they prepare exciting programing and unique avenues of engagement for InterDigital’s women and allies.
